Tanya Morel

With a background in theatre, Tanya Morel feels compelled to create images that reflect her love of a good narrative. She is drawn to ambiguous imagery where what initially seems innocent and benign can at a second glance appear rather sinister. Recent works include portraits drawn from found photos; odd family groupings, pairs of twins, friends on a night out; darkly comic, melancholic, sometimes unsettling – but hopefully also tender and affectionate.
