This intensive one-day course is designed for those new to scriptwriting looking to push their work to a professional level.
Run by locally based script editor Lucy V Hay, this session will draw on the importance of scriptwriting as the starting point for most dramatic films. You will be introduced to the basic elements and key concepts to be expected from a professional screenplay. Looking a common vocabulary used when developing screenplays, script analysis and usual exercises based on your own story ideas.
Any writers who already have treatments or script written would be encouraged to bring these along to the session.

Lucy V. Hay is a script editor, author and blogger who helps writers. Her site at bang2write.com has appeared on The Write Life’s ‘Top 100 Sites for Writers’ four years in a row. Lucy is the script editor and advisor on numerous UK features and shorts.
She has also been a script reader for over 15 years, providing coverage for indie production companies, investors, screen agencies, producers, directors and individual writers. Lucy’s debut crime novel, The Other Twin is being adapted by Agatha Raisin producers Free@LastTV.
